Qualifications of applicants
1. For an applicant with a Master degree holder
• For the non-coursework curriculum (4611), an applicant must hold a Master of Science in Food Technology or Food Science or Food Science and Technology or related fields with the following qualifications:
- Graduated with GPAX not lower than 3.25 from 4-point system (for an applicant graduated from a research-based program with coursework). If applicant’s transcript does not display GPAX in the 4-point scale, the certified grade conversion document must be submitted with the copy of transcript. Online grade conversion report with applicant’s signature can be accepted, but the official document from university is recommended.
or
- Published a research article (from a part of M.S. thesis) in a scientific journal in the Thailand Research Fund database (for an applicant graduated from a research-based program, non-coursework)
• For the coursework curriculum (4613), an applicant must hold a Master of Science in Food Technology or Food Science or Food Science and Technology or related fields with the qualifications listed below. Otherwise, the department graduate program administration committee will consider if an applicant is qualified for this program.
- Graduated with GPAX not lower than 3.25 from 4-point system (for an applicant graduated from a research-based program with coursework). If applicant’s transcript does not display GPAX in the 4-point scale, the certified grade conversion document must be submitted with the copy of transcript. Online grade conversion report with applicant’s signature can be accepted, but the official document from university is recommended.

For an applicant with a Bachelor degree holder applied for non-coursework (4612) and coursework (4614) curriculums, an applicant must hold a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Food Technology or Food Science or Food Science and Technology or related fields. Otherwise, the department graduate program administration committee will consider if an applicant is qualified for this program.
Students completing their eligible degrees in the last semester can also apply.
2. As the policy of the Graduate School*, candidate whose first language is not English or not graduated from an English/International program (attend at least 2 academic years) must take an English proficiency test and pass the following criteria: have an appropriate level in an approved test of English.
- A TOEFL score of 450 (PBT) or 133 (CBT) or 45 (IBT or ITP) or higher
or - An IELTS score of 4.0 or higher
or - A CU Test of English Proficiency (CU-TEP) score of 45 of higher
*Student who admits with an English Proficiency test score lower than 525 (TOEFL) or 5.5 (IELTS) or 67 (CU-TEP) must take and pass 1 or 2 English classes during studying in the program, depending on the English Proficiency test score.
