Chulalongkorn Team won first place in the National and ASEAN Food Quiz Bowl competition
On 20th June 2015, team from Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University won the first place from the national food science and technology quiz competition, FoSTAT-Nestle Quiz Bowl 2015. The team members are Mr. Jirapat Boonying, Mr. Tanathep Leungtongkum, Miss Wilawan Sakulkorbsin, and Miss Arin Pantisoontorn, 4th year undergraduated students supervised by Assoc. Prof. Kanitha Tananuwong. This year, Chulalongkorn team defeated 70 other teams from public and private universities. The first runner-up and the second runner-up was the team from Kasetsart university and Thammasat university, respectively. Chulalongkorn team won this title for 3 years in a row (2013 - 2015). The team was selected as the representative from Thailand to participate in ASEAN Food Quiz Bowl 2015, which was held in the Philippines on 25th June 2015. The team also successfully defeated 7 other teams from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Myanmar. The first runner-up and the second runner-up was the team from the Philippines and Indonesia, respectively. Chulalongkorn team gracefully won ASEAN Food Quiz Bowl for second time this year (2013 & 2015).
